Types of Financial Aid

Paying for college can feel overwhelming. Questions about tuition, scholarships, and financial aid are real, and you are not alone in asking them.

At the University of Arkansas — Fort Smith, we work with you to build a plan that makes college affordable. During the 2024-2025 academic year, ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ distributed over $33 million in grants and scholarships. That same year, more than 84 percent of non-concurrent undergraduate students received scholarship or grant aid.

There are practical options available to help you pay for college, and our team will help you build a plan that works for you.

Start with the FAFSA

The first step in applying for most federal, state, and institutional aid is completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Completing the FAFSA allows ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ to determine your eligibility for:

  • Federal grants
  • State aid
  • Work-study
  • Student loans
  • Many institutional scholarships
